Early Oil Lamp
Also called a fat oil lamp, or a Betty Lamp.
These type of lamps date back thousands of
years, with the earliest ones being shells or
flat rocks with a depression carved into
them. All you need to do is put some oil
-either animal fat (most traditional, but also
VERY smoky), or olive oil (less smoky), or a
good quality smokeless lamp oil in and light
the wick. You can even adjust the size of
the flame by how much of the wick sticks out!

Our hoof picks are made from horse shoes!
Curved with a center twist for strength, and a
loop at the end for a piece of leather or rope,
these fit wonderfully in your hand.
Hoof picks are wax finished to help protect
them from the environment.

"Custom Knife Blades"
We will do some knives, but it seems that
most blacksmiths are doing knives and not
much else, so we don't do many unless
asked. Our knife blades are made from high
quality reclaimed spring steel, oil quenched
for case hardening, then tempered to hold a
superior edge. Blades are not typically
polished, as most of the knives that we have
done are for re-enactors who want
something authentic.
